Being able to experience different clinical sites, gave us an idea how the hospital setting works and how a clinic setting works and of course we got to see what it would feel like or be like working as a technologist. Both, hospital and clinics run things differently. I learned every site has their way of doing certain things, as a student you learn to adjust to any tech because again even the techs work and have their ways of doing things you just have to do it how they tell you to otherwise it will bother them. I really enjoyed both, the hospital and the urgent care. I liked the hospital because you get to practice a lot more specially trauma, and you learn to position the patients in a way it's easier for you and not causing any more pain to the patients. Working with portables has also been a great experience because you learn how to angle/position the tube when a patient can't move or turn certain ways. You pretty much have to play with it so you can get the right angles for your images. I also loved the urgent care because it makes you be extra confident, and you aren't afraid to try anything, it is less pressure and the techs there are very friendly! I did notice that at the clinic sites they are a lot more cautious, they shield the patient no matter what and are very professional. I feel like at the hospital they just don't care about little things like that, they never shield, and they hardly ever clean after each patient. I also learned how important it is to know how your images are supposed to look before sending them to the doctor, you just don't position the pt and shoot an x-ray and send it, you need to take a look at it and make sure the x-ray is showing what it's supposed to be, if not so you can reposition the pt. As I keep going to clinic, I keep on learning plenty of stuffs, I have been enjoying it.
